We’re getting ready to pass mile marker 5.27.2020 on this journey of ours. I’m glad to have made it here. Some of us will take this exist ramp and more will enter this highway of life. I’m sure there’s a song in there somewhere. Today happens to be Cellophane Tape Day. Why? I have no idea. It’s also National Grape Popsicle Day, National Senior Health & Fitness Day, Old-Time Player Piano Day and Nothing To Fear Day. Nothing on the list makes me want to throw a party. Some days are like that. Now to our history lesson of today. If you were alive in 1896 and living in St. Louis, it was a bad day. A tornado hit, killing 255 and leaving thousands homeless. On this day in 1933 Walt Disney’s short film “3 Little Pigs”was released. It received the Academy Award for Best Animated film in 1934. This is also the day in 1969 that Walt Disney World construction begins at Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Today is Sam Snead’s birthday. He made the cut at the age of 67 at the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills. Sam said, “Never let up. The more you can win by, the more doubts you put in the other players’ minds the next time out.” This is the day in 2003 that Clive Granger took the off ramp. He was a Noble Prize winner in the field of Economics. Clive said, “A teacher told my mother that I would never become successful, which illustrates the difficulty of long-run forecasting on inadequate data. I like that quote. So there you have it. I hope this 27th day of May is a good one for you. Stay safe and Abide.
