I’ll end this [last] post with my favorite Ike quote: “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.” Ya’ll Abide now..

Life Experiences

1949 - 1968

Galva, Kansas

Farm Kid

In the heart of rural Kansas, from 1949 to 1968, farm life was a grand adventure for kids. Each day began with the sun rising over golden fields, where chores awaited like old friends. Milking cows and gathering eggs were just part of the routine, but they were filled with laughter and the thrill of discovery. The vast open skies were a playground, where imagination soared as high as the birds. Every season brought new lessons, from planting seeds in spring to harvesting crops in fall, shaping a bond with the land that would last a lifetime.

1968 - 1972

USS Newport News

Position

In a world where dreams can quickly turn into detours, a young man found himself at a crossroads. After being kicked out of college, he faced uncertainty and the looming threat of the draft. Rather than surrender to fate, he made a bold decision to join the Navy, seeking purpose and adventure on the open seas. This choice was more than just a way to escape; it was a chance to redefine himself and embrace the discipline and camaraderie that military life offers. As he donned the uniform, he transformed challenges into opportunities, ready to navigate the waves of life with courage and resilience.

Death

Consider this the rough draft, I will give better details in the weeks to come.

He was taken from us prematurely because of an oversight at Villages Hospital Emergency Room where his doctor failed him by not testing him for Sepsis despite having stage 4 lung cancer  taking immunotherapy.  They said it was so,e sort of infection, and sent him home.  The next day he knew something was wrong and went back, so they admitted him.  It was more then 24 hours after he was admitted when they finally ran a lactic acid test which showed the Sepess.  By this time, it was too late.  It is standard to run this test as soon as you come into the emergency room with these conditions.

Unfortunately, in Florida, we are a free kill state (only one in the country) which prevents survivors from holding health care practitioners accountable for even the most gross level of medical neglagence.
