The mile post reads 09.30.2021. The last day of October has arrived. I’m focused on the coming weekend at the beach with lots of friends, music, alcohol, Sun, sand, and the Atlantic Ocean. I’ve searched for quotes on having fun and found that many of our greatest minds have believed that having fun is what life is all about. That philosophy works fine for me. I’m in the time/space of Thursday and the weekend is in the future. Therefore, I’m going to focus on having fun today which is Ask A Stupid Question Day, Chewing Gum Day, Extra Virgin Olive Oil Day, National Hot Mulled Cider Day, National Mud Pack Day, National Love People Day, A Time For Yoga and National Orange Shirt Day. Now to the history trivia for today. On this day in 1846 anesthetic ether is used for the 1st time by American dentist Dr. William Morton who extracts a tooth. In 1877 on this day P.T. Barnum’s circus, the “Greatest Show on Earth”, debuted in New York City. This is the day in 1888 that Jack the Ripper murders 2 more women in Whitechapel London (Liz Stride and Kate Eddowes). In 1938 on this day, a radio broadcast of H. G. Wells “The War of the Worlds”, narrated by Orson Welles, caused a mass panic. In 1952 on this day, Clarence Birdseye sold frozen peas for the first time. On this day in 1955, actor (Rebel Without a Cause), James Dean died at the age of 24. He said, “You are who you are meant to be. Dance as if no one’s watching, love as if it’s all you know. Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today.” He also said, “Remember, Life is short. Break the rules.” Now, it’s time to finish living this day. I’m off to an excellent start. Abide.
