October 3rd, 2020 has arrived and it’s already been a roller coaster kind of month and we haven’t even reached the top of the first drop yet. Buckle up buttercup. My prediction is that most of the people in trump’s inner circle will get the virus. They’ve been in close quarters without masks or social distancing. Probably more “wish I hads” than “glad I dids” right now. As far as I know, we’re doing fine. I’m going to focus on today and the few people in my inner circle. It’s Global Smoothie Day, International Frugal Fun Day, Mean Girls Appreciation Day (?), Look At Leaves Day, National Boy Friend Day, National Butterfly And Hummingbird Day, World Card Making Day and National Carmel Custard Day which is my pick. No to the footnotes: This is the day in 1793 that an arrest warrant is issued for French philosopher Marquis de Condorcet which I bring up so I can quote him. “Enjoy your own life without comparing it to that of another”. That’s a good definition of the word “Abide”. On this day in 1863, Lincoln designates the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. This is the day in 1913 that the US Federal income tax is signed into law (at 1%) by President Woodrow Wilson. Finally, on this day in 1963 a hurricane hits Haiti killing 5,000 and 100,000 are injured. This is the day that guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan was born in 1954. He could get any sound out of a Fender Stratocaster he wanted. He said, “You see, we are here, as far as I can tell, to help each other; our brothers, our sisters, our friends, our enemies. That is to help each other and not hurt each other.” I think that’s a good quote to end on. Abide. The Marquis de Condorcet told you how.
