I hope our luck holds in that department. This is a tough list to make a pick from: bacon, cake, ice cream or a daiquiri. I pick bacon, for breakfast. On this day in 1692, 5 more people are hanged for witchcraft (20 in all) in Salem, Massachusetts. During this time, in America and in Europe, there were lots of witch trials which usually resulted in women being hanged or burned at the stake. Give me that old time religion? On this day in 1879 Doc Holliday kills for the first time after a man shoots up his New Mexico saloon. And, this is the day in 1965 that shooting begins on Star Trek’s 2nd pilot “Where No Man Has Gone Before”. On this day in 1814 Samuel Colt, American inventor and industrialist (Colt 6 shot revolver), is born in Hartford, Connecticut. He said, “God made all men, Sam Colt made them equal”. While John Lewis didn’t die today but on the 17th, I’d like to end this post with a quote from him, “Never give up. Never give in.
