August 23 2020 is here. It’s a good one. They’re all good if you decide to make them that way. It’s all up to you. The quality of your life is a decision you make. It all comes down to attitude. If you start each day being grateful, find small ways to help other people and give love to the people who love you back, it’s hard to have a bad day. You can even celebrate every day by picking one or two items from “the” list. Today’s list starts with my selection: Buttered Corn Day. If that isn’t for you, there’s also Cuban Sandwich Day, Daffodil Day, International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, Hug Your Sweetheart Day, Valentino Day, National Cheap Flight Day, Ride The Wind Day and National Sponge Cake Day. Historically speaking in the year 79 on this day, Mount Vesuvius erupts on the feast day of Vulcan, Roman god of fire, and destroyed Pompeii. On this day in 1305 William Wallace, Scottish patriot, is executed for high treason by Edward I of England. On this day in 1617 the 1st one-way streets opens in London. And on this day in 2005 hurricane Katrina forms over the Bahamas. Today Kobe Bryant would have been 42 years old. I’ll give you two of his quotes: “I can’t relate to lazy people. We don’t speak the same language. I don’t understand you. I don’t want to understand you.” and “I’m chasing perfection.” This is also the day in 1305 that William Wallace, Scottish patriot, is hanged, disemboweled and beheaded. I guess the King wanted to make sure he was dead. William said, ” Every man dies. Not every man really lives.” And this ends another daily post. Hope you decide to make this Sunday a good one. Just remember, Less BS, More Ice Cream. Abide.
