The name of this day is August 27, 2022. I intend to make this day a good one to live. On this day in 1942 Soviet woman sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko who is credited with 309 kills, was welcomed to the White House by Eleanor Roosevelt. This is the day in 1979 of the Warrenpoint ambush when 18 British soldiers were killed when the IRA exploded two roadside bombs as a British convoy passed Narrow Water Castle. Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a helicopter crash on this day in 1990 at the age of 35.
