On this day in 1965 church deacon Jimmie Lee Jackson is beaten and shot during a peaceful march in Marion, Alabama. His death inspired the Selma to Montgomery marches. On this day in 2007 Kobe Bryant was voted MVP of the 56th All-Star Game. Today’s dead person is Michelangelo.
