Let’s do this. It’s December 5th, 2021. I get to live this day along with 7.9 billion other people. I’m grateful for what I have. I’m going to ignore the chaos that surrounds me. I’m going to appreciate this day. I will think positive thoughts and I’m going to be kind. That’s my plan for today and it will be the same one tomorrow. You can’t have a good day unless you start with it with a good attitude. Today is Bathtub Party Day, Krampusnacht? National Blue Jeans Day, Repeal Day, AFK-CIO Day, Day Of The Ninja and National Sacher Torte Day. Explanations are in order. On Bathtub Party Day you’re supposed to invite someone over to have a party in your bathtub. I think I’ll leave that one to people who still look good naked. Krampusnacht is a demon who prowls Central Europe around Christmas trying to steal children. Now onto the history of today. In 1349, 500 Jews of Nuremberg were massacred during Black Death riots. In Europe during the Middle Ages, when it doubt, blame the Jews. In 1893 and electric car was built at the Dixon Carriage works in Toronto and could go 15 miles between charges. In 1908 the 1st football uniform numerals were used at the University of Pittsburgh. Finally, in 1933 Prohibition ended when the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution was ratified. This is the day in 2009 that Joh Rohn’s life ended at the age of 79. John was an author and motivational speaker. Lots of good quotes from this guy. Here are a few of his that resonate with me. “If you don’t change what you are doing today, all your tomorrows will look like yesterday.” “Learn how to turn frustration into fascination. You will learn more from being fascinated by life than you will be being frustrated with it.” I’ll end with “Days are expensive. When you spend one day you will have one less day to spend. So make sure you spend each day wisely.” Abide
