It is now the time/space of November 28, 2021. I’ve not browsed the news, looked at a weather report or had my first sip of coffee yet. I will fix the coffee shortly. I expect today will be one of those special ones that I can make a memory of that will last as long as my brain continues to work. Since I make my own wine in gallon jugs, am I a small brewery? This is the day in 1717 Blackbeard attacked and captured a French merchant slave ship and renames it the “Queen Anne’s Revenge”. On this day in 1775 the Continental Navy was formed. On this day in 1893 women were allowed to vote in a national election for the first time. It was in New Zealand. In 1895 on this day America’s first auto race was held. It was from Chicago to Evanston IL and back. 6 cars, 55 miles and the winner averaged 7 miles per hour. This day in 1943, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin met at the Tehran Conference to map out a strategy to win the war with Germany. This is John Stewart’s birthday. I usually quote dead people and he isn’t dead, but he is funny and sarcastic. John said, “In whose delusional mind is democracy made “better” by allowing wealthy people to control more of it?” and “By the way, when you finish the bottle of Crown Royal, you can still use the pouch to hold your broken dreams.” Have I said that I appreciate sarcasm?
