What is the best way for you to start your day? For me, it’s writing this post. It’s exercise for my brain. Discovering the uniqueness of September 29, 2020 and writing a short essay about gets my neural network firing on all cylinders. Playing my ukulele would probably do the same thing. This is Broadway Musical Day, Goose Day, National Biscotti Day National Coffee Day, National Mocha Day, VFW Day and my pick, Confucius Day. Yesterday was his birthday. He said, “To see the right and not to do it is cowardice.” Now let’s continue down the path of history. On this day in 1793 Tennis is 1st mentioned in an English sporting magazine. This is the day in 1916 that oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller is recognized as the world’s first billionaire. On this day in 1941 the Nazi massacre at Babi Yar, near Kiev happens and 33,771 mostly Jews are murdered. And on a lighter note, on this day in 1959 Little Anthony & the Imperials record “Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop”. Today is the birthday of Jerry Lee Lewis who said, “Other people – they practice and they practice… these fingers of mine, they got brains in ‘em. You don’t tell them what to do – they do it.” This is also the day in 1987 that Henry Ford ll died. I used to see him at Ford’s WHQ. Heny said, “Nobody can really guarantee the future. The best we can do is size up the chances, calculate the risks involved, estimate our ability to deal with them and then make our plans with confidence.” My brain is now working properly. It’s need for activity and caffeine satisfied. Have an excellent day. Abide.
