We’ve now made it halfway through the month of September. We’ve made a little progress on the virus this month although not much. Fall and winter will drive most of us inside when we’re outside of our homes. Just have to wait and see what happens. On this day, I will be safe as I celebrate Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie Day which I don’t ever recall eating. Sounds yummy. It’s also Get Ready Day, Greenpeace Day, Make A Hat Day, Caregivers Day, International Day Of Democracy, National Double Cheeseburger Day, National Cheese Toast Day, National Linguine Day and Thank You Day. There’s more but this is enough. I’ll pick the Cheese Burger. Now into the way back machine: On this day in 1616 the 1st free public school in Europe is opened in Frascati, Italy. On this day in 1762 the Battle of Signal Hill took place which was the last battle in North American of the Seven Years’ War. We also call it the French Indian war. It was actually the first world war because England, Span and France fought each other all over the world. On this day in 1821 the Act of Independence of Central America is signed as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras & Nicaragua declare their independence from the Spanish Empire. Finally, on this day in 1923 Governor Walton of Oklahoma declares state of siege because of Ku Klux Klan terror. This is the day in 1254 that Marco Polo is born. He said, “I did not write half of what I saw, for I knew I would not be believed” This is also the day that William Howard Taft is born. He was our 27th President and also Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He said, “Presidents come and go, but the Supreme Court goes on forever.” That’s enough for this day. Stay happy, safe and wear a mask. Abide.
