We are now in June 20 2020. Glad to be here despite the chaos. Feels a little like we’re on a roller coaster headed for who knows where. Interesting to watch. We will get through the pandemic, the social unrest and the economic recession. We won’t do it today however. Today is American Eagle Day, Anne and Samantha Day (Anne Frank and Samantha Smith), National Hike with a Geek Day, International Surfing Day, National Ice Cream Soda Day. Plain Yogurt Day, World Humanist Day, The First Day of Summer and National Vanilla Milkshake Day. There’s more but that’s enough. I’ll go with the yogurt. Now the footnotes: On this day in 1782 Congress approves Great Seal of the United States of America and the bald eagle as its symbol. This is the day in 1893 that Lizzie Borden is acquitted of the 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts. This is the day in 1975 that “Jaws”, is released. In 1980 “Blues Brothers” with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi opens in 594 theaters on this day. Today is Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) birthday. Brian said, “I wake up in the morning and I say ‘Ahh! Today’s the day for a song! I’m going to write a song today!’ And I do. I write a song.” This is also Lionel Richie’s birthday. He said, “I’m a songwriter, and people will tell you the greatest stories about their lives”. I might try and write a new song today. Life is certainly providing material.
