Here we are. We soon will spin into the sun and of March 2, 2020. As usual, I anticipate a good day. Yesterday met my high expectations. I’m hoping for the same today. I’ll not worry about tomorrow until it arrives. It’s National Banana Cream Pie Day, International Rescue Cat Day (not going to do that), Old Stuff Day and National Read Across America Day. I’m surprised every time someone tells me they haven’t read a book in years. I on the other hand, love where books can take me. Moving on. This is the date in 1796 NapolĂ©on Bonaparte is appointed Commander-in-Chief of the French Army in Italy. Here are a couple of quotes from Mr. Bonaparte, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” and “In politics stupidity is not a handicap.” In 1866 the 1st US company to make sewing needles by machine is incorporated. How did they make them before? In 1932 Australian golf trick-shot artist Joe Kirkwood posts an incredible 83 using only his putter over 18 holes at Belleaire, Florida. Wow. In 1930 D. H. Lawrence, English poet and writer (Lady Chatterley’s Lover), dies of tuberculosis at 44. He said, “Life is ours to be spent, not to be saved.” This is also the day in 1904 that Dr. Seuss [Theodor Geisel], was born. He said, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” I really like that quote. Good enough to be written on a t shirt. I might do that. It’s now time to start this brand new day. You be sure and Abide.
